In order to see birds, it is necessary to become a part of the silence.
installation, 2020
The starting point for this work became the 12th-century epic poem The Conference of the Birds by the Persian poet Farid ud-Din Attar. The poem tells the story of a group of birds making a mythical quest for knowledge and truth through the seven valleys. Reflecting on this poem’s philosophical content of the self-search I made a composition based on small plaster casts of the artist´s scar and installation with the video piece.
Chapter-1
small objects, 2018, 2020 (remake)
plaster cast of scar, approx size 5x9 cm.
This work is based on the plaster cast of the artist´s scar.
In childhood, when I was a small kid I thought, that I could fly. Once I tried.
In the memory of this event, I have a lifelong scar in the middle of my forehead, as a reminder of a man's dream to fly.

Chapter-2
installation, 2020
lametta silver-rain curtain (2,5 x 2 m), metal bar (2 m), chains (1,2 m), photo projection.
video 16 min 20 sec, sound by Benedikt Sommer.
This installation consists of one of my recurrent motif of the bird and a video piece based on my media archive from different years that I reused in order to create the sequence of moving images with surrealistic imagery to translate the symbolical meaning of the described journey in the poem The Conference of the Birds.
