MIKRO [SMART] RAIONY (2014)

Curator of the special project in the frame of ARTBAT FEST 5 Festival for Contemporary Art. Almaty (KAZ)

Lectures, workshops, activation of public space with the production of two site-specific commissioned artworks.

The purpose of this project is to attract the attention of residents of micro districts to the issues of the ecological state and improvement of the habitat. Art objects in the courtyards are designed to enrich and develop among Almaty residents an understanding of contemporary art forms, to become an incentive for the development and rethinking of the urban space through a creative approach to changing and understanding own space. A similar form of reanimation of the general living space of micro-districts, the creation of objects of art together with artists presupposes the emergence of a communicative platform between neighbors, as well as further social interaction.
